Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - 2 - Arusha

Arusha, Tanzania's safari capital, is located at the foot of Mount Meru, close to Mount Kilimanjaro, the Manyara, and Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. From Arusha, it’s only a short trip to the Serengeti. Just to the north, on the slopes of Mount Meru, is Arusha National Park. Developed by the Germans as a centre of colonial administration because of the temperate climate, Arusha is a good place to take a day off from your safari travels

Day Notes

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport. After finishing passport control and customs, you are met by your Safari guide at the arrivals gate. After a brief introduction your guide takes you to Arusha, for check in and overnight at Lake Duluti Lodge.

Driving time is approx. 1.5 hours

Pazuri Inn, located in Kisongo, Tanzania, offers a tranquil retreat near Arusha. The inn features spacious, well-appointed rooms equipped with the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Day 2 -

Travellers heading for the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater will pass through the town of Karatu in the green hills of Tanzania’s northern highlands. Presided over by the towering Ol Deani Volcano, this small, colourful town serves as a popular overnight stop for visitors exploring the area’s many game parks. The town offers a variety of activities including browsing the bustling marketplace, sampling beer at a local brewery, visiting a traditional homestead, or taking a guided walk through the Ngorongoro Forest in search of waterfalls and caves. Whether you are looking for cultural tours, hiking and biking opportunities, a chance to enjoy an authentic rural Tanzania experience, or simply a break between safari game drives, this underrated town has plenty to offer.

| Day Notes

After breakfast, depart your lodge with a packed lunch and drive to Arusha National Park. Enjoy your day with game drives in the park and lunch at a picnic site. Late afternoon drive to your lodge at Karatu for check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 3-4 - Ngororongoro

   Day Notes

After breakfast, depart your lodge with a packed lunch and drive through the lush Ngorongoro highlands into the Ngorongoro conservation area, descend into Ngorongoro crater and spend half a day on the crater floor with game viewing. In the afternoon ascend and drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

This is a full day activity.

Day 4-7 - Seronera

The Seronera region, in the central Serengeti, is set directly on the Great Migration route and offers excellent viewing of this incredible annual phenomenon, when countless wildebeest flood the area and move across the plains. While migratory game populations fluctuate seasonally, Seronera is still a wildlife hotspot at other times of the year, sheltering the Big Five, among many other species. A number of small campsites provide accommodation and visitors can enjoy hot air balloon trips and walking safaris as well as guided game drives.

| Day Notes

After breakfast, depart from your lodge with packed lunch and drive to the Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro conservation area. On arrival in the Serengeti, spend the afternoon with game drives. In the early evening arrive at your lodge for check in, dinner and Overnight. You will stay for 3 nights with game drives.

Next two days, enjoy a full day of wildlife viewing and game drives in Serengeti National Park, late afternoon drive to your Lodge for dinner and overnight. According to the wildlife movement and local conditions, your guide will advise the best daily program on site.

Day 7-8 - Lake Eyasi

Tucked between the Kidero Mountains in the south and the Eyasi Escarpment in the north, Lake Eyasi is set in a remote, dry, arid landscape just south of Tanzania’s renowned Serengeti National Park. This seasonal lake features dry salt beds and a variety of birdlife, such as Flamingos and Pelicans, and is surrounded by woodlands, forests and ancient Baobabs. Visitors can learn about local cultures and often choose to visit the pastoralist Datoga people and the nomadic Hadza hunter-gatherers. Other popular activities include bird watching, hiking, walking safaris and soaking up the spectacular views. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit the nearby Oldeani Mountain, the swampy valley of Yaeda and the spectacular Serengeti.

After breakfast, depart from your lodge with packed lunch and drive to  Lake Eyasi with game drive en-route , In the afternoon drive to your lodge for check in, dinner and Overnight.

Day 8 - Lake Burunge

Lake Burunge is situated on the north western border of the Tarangire National Park. Due to the surrounding grassland and wetland areas, Lake Burunge attracts various waterbird species.

| Day Notes

After breakfast, depart early with packed lunch and drive to an Hadzabe camp; here you proceed with a morning walk and hunt with the Hadzabe people. Afternoon visit a Datoga herder’s village, and learn about their way of life and watch a black smith work in this traditional village. In the afternoon drive to your hotel at Tarangire for check in, dinner and overnight.

Day 9-10 - Lake Burunge, Tarangire National Park

After the Serengeti, Tarangire has the greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania and in the dry season the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather and not surprisingly the predators follow. This is also the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as oryx and gerenuk are regularly spotted. Tarangire is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, and its breathtaking views of the Masaai Steppe and the mountains to the south. Located just a few hours drive from the town of Arusha, Tarangire is a popular stop for safaris travelling through the northern circuit on their way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. The park extends into two game controlled areas and the wildlife are allowed to move freely throughout.

Day Notes

After breakfast, depart from the Lodge and drive to Arusha. After lunch you are transferred to Kilimanjaro International airport to connect with your International flight.
