Today you don't have to leave Tarangire early to reach another town. When the afternoon light changes, you're still here. When the game drive ends, your bed is nearby. Today deserves the early start. Descend onto the Ngorongoro Crater floor and let the day develop around what you find — grassland, woodland, marsh, and open water sit beneath the caldera walls, with wildlife moving through a surprisingly compact landscape. Your vehicle is private. If a sighting deserves another twenty minutes, nobody outside the two of you and your guide gets a vote. Later, climb back into the highlands and return to the same lodge — your bags stayed where they were this morning.
